I’m preparing to speak at a writing conference, so in this week’s episode I’m sharing my best tips and tricks for participating at conferences as a speaker or panelist.
I’ve been presenting solo messages and contributing to sci fi and fantasy conference panels for the past four years, including discussions about steampunk and the other punks. It’s been a challenge to stretch myself this way, but I can definitely say it’s been worth it.
Here’s how I went about it . . . !

Show Notes: What You’ll Find in Episode 26
It’s always tough for an introvert to get herself to a convention, but I have loved being part of Salt Lake Comic Con/FanX and Life, the Universe, and Everything (LTUE). This week, I share my takeaways as I get ready to present on a couple topics:
- Turning Your Ideas Into Novels
- From Swooning to Swashbuckling: How to Balance Action and Romance
I won’t be talking about those topics in this episode, but I do share my two cents about getting into convention panel opportunities and how to have a good experience with them.
If you’ll be at the FanX show this week, please come say hi!
And as always, find opportunities to beta read my next book for free at CindyGrigg.com, or to snag my pre-orders for a discount here.
